As of today, I've finished Day 3 of the Austin Teacher Coding Academy. I can't decide if I'm bursting with new and exciting lesson ideas, complete wiped out from trying desperately to master several new skills before taking my new knowledge back to my students, or overwhelmed with wrapping my mind around the coding camp I'll be teaching in a few weeks. Maybe it's all three!
Our homework tonight was to complete a digital literacy self-assessment. My results are posted to my Digital Competency page. While I'm a bit disappointed to find I only qualified as a "Digital Bachelor," I'm not completely surprised. I often feel confident in areas of searching the internet for information and choosing how to make safe decisions online, I have a lot to learn in creating content and managing electronic storage. My participation in the Coding Academy will allow me the opportunity to improve in these areas and many others throughout the course of this summer and school year. I am looking forward to learning and growing!
